Grove is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your development environment should remain yours. This Privacy Policy explains how Grove, the Grove Mac app, and the Grove mobile app (collectively, the "Services") handle your information.

Data We Collect

We do not collect any personal data.

The Grove client applications (Mac app and mobile app) do not:

Collect personal information
Require user accounts or registration
Track your usage or behavior
Send analytics or telemetry data
Store any data on external servers

How Grove Works

Grove operates as a direct connection between your client device (phone or Mac) and your development machine:

All communication occurs directly between your devices over your Tailscale network
No data passes through or is stored on Grove servers
Your code, terminal sessions, and repository data never leave your own infrastructure
Connection credentials are stored locally on your device

Local Data Storage

The Grove client apps store minimal configuration data locally on your device, including:

Server connection settings (URLs and authentication tokens)
App preferences
License information

This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party.

Third-Party Services

Grove requires Tailscale for secure network connectivity. Your use of Tailscale is subject to Tailscale's own privacy policy. We do not have access to your Tailscale account or network data.

If you purchase the Pro version through the App Store or Mac App Store, Apple processes that transaction according to their privacy practices.

Website Analytics

The Grove website (usegrove.dev) uses Vercel Analytics to understand general traffic patterns. This is limited to anonymous, aggregated page view data and does not track individual users or collect personal information.

Children's Privacy

Grove is a developer tool not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
